Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Our dental checkups and teeth cleanings include one of our dentists performing a comprehensive visual examination of your mouth while also using advanced dental technologies to capture areas unseen by the naked eye (i.e., underneath the gumline). We’ll clear away any existing plaque, tartar, and bacteria as well as explain any proposed treatment options to improve your oral health. You’ll also receive an oral cancer screening to check for abnormalities and lesions.

Children’s Dentistry

Our children’s dentistry services are designed to treat growing smiles that need close monitoring during each new stage. From checkups and cleanings to fluoride treatment, dental sealants, and more, we will deliver the same high-quality care to your child so that their teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health remain on a positive and healthy track. We’ll even provide fun and helpful tips they can use at home when brushing and flossing!

Gum Disease Treatment

With more than half of U.S. adults living with some form of gum disease, it’s imperative that appropriate treatment options be provided. At Splendid Smiles Dental Studio, we offer scaling and root planing, laser periodontal treatment, and Arestin antibiotics to target bacteria. These solutions eliminate infection, minimize future chances of reinfection, and improve the overall health of your gums so that your teeth have a firmer foundation for the years to come.

Fluoride Treatment

Patients who are prone to cavities are likely to benefit from additional fluoride treatment. Although commonly found in city tap water and toothpaste, daily exposure may not be enough. Fluoride is known to remineralize and strengthen existing tooth enamel as well as safeguard against harmful decay. Its application takes only minutes and can better protect your teeth from cavity-causing bacteria. For younger patients, we also provide silver diamine fluoride (SDF) to stop decay in its tracks.

Dental Sealants

There are many pits and grooves located in your chewing teeth – the molars – and they’re often susceptible to decay because of the food particles and bacteria that can easily penetrate the enamel. Children also have premolars that increase their chances of cavities. However, with dental sealants, we can apply a clear, plastic coating to the surfaces of these teeth so that they remain protected against plaque and tartar that are known to break down enamel and cause dental caries.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

If you want to make sure your child’s mouth remains fully protected throughout the game, ask us about a custom-made athletic mouthguard. Worn over the top row of teeth, these appliances absorb excessive pressure so that the chances of a dental emergency are significantly reduced. Your child’s mouthguard will fit comfortably because of the impressions we will take of their smile. Made to their mouth’s unique specifications, you can trust it will deliver the support and protection needed to keep their smile damage-free.

Nightguards for Bruxism

Bruxism is the clinical term used to describe teeth grinding and clenching. Occurring as a result of stress or a misaligned bite, its harmful effects on your smile and facial structures can lead to increased tooth sensitivity and TMJ disorder. With a custom nightguard crafted using our in-house Spintray 3D printer, we can provide a reliable oral appliance that is worn at night (or throughout the day) and protects teeth from further wear and tear while also alleviating unnecessary pressure placed on your jaw joints.
